In 2022, Makasi Rescue Foundation implemented the “Kampala for All – Safety Nets for Recovery” project funded by the Global Cities Fund. The six-month initiative aimed to provide financial relief to households, particularly refugees and urban poor families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The project supported 50 pupils with school fees stipends, distributed direct cash assistance to 357 clients, and provided seed capital to 30 clients with vocational skills. The gender-inclusive support benefited both refugees and Ugandans, fostering economic recovery and livelihood improvement within the community.
